MadeMe, the New York-based label that has defined authentic street-inspired womenswear since 2007, is proud to introduce its Fall / Winter 2011 collection of women’s outerwear and shirting. Consisting of four unique pieces, the collection showcases MadeMe’s signature styles updated for fall in luxe fabrics and with unexpected details, alongside first-ever pieces for the brand. The collection hits retail in October, with an online pre-sale beginning June 27.
As the face of the Fall collection, model Andrej Pejic sets the tone for a playfully androgynous line that combines traditionally masculine silhouettes with feminine fits and designer Erin Magee’s trademark street sensibility.
The Fall / Winter 2011 offering is anchored by a MadeMe x Schott NYC Custom Women’s Perfecto Motorcycle Jacket. A perfect marriage between two New York brands, the collaboration is given some unique flair with a cotton Liberty of London Edenham Floral Pattern Lining to contrast with the black, lambskin leather exterior. The jacket is made in the USA and features trademark Schott NYC details in a slim, cropped custom fit. While motorcycle jackets have been a staple of the MadeMe label for several seasons, this marks the first partnership with Schott NYC, originators of the asymmetrical zipped leather motorcycle jacket.
Also new for fall is the Team Jacket, a first of its kind for MadeMe. Crafted from Canadian Melton Wool, the jacket uses tonal leather appliqué on the front and back in lieu of traditional leather sleeves, for a wearable, versatile look. With the phrase “¿Quién Es Esa Niña?” (which means “Who’s that girl?”) embroidered over the right breast instead of owner’s name and a rose stitched on the back, the Team Jacket is infused with a flirtatious personality and comes in both black and red.
The collection is rounded out by two printed Japanese chambray shirts. Available in both polka dot and floral prints, the button-down shirts feature two breast pockets and a slim fit, the perfect incarnation of MadeMe’s menswear-as-womenswear look.
